Size guide
How big do Maltipoos get?
Most maltipoo sizes chart pages online are American and speak in pounds. Here is the maltipoo weight kg answer instead, from the sizes we actually place in Singapore.
Ask about sizesWhat is a Maltipoo's full grown size?
A toy Maltipoo is 2 to 4kg full grown, and that is the maltipoo full grown size for most of the puppies we place in Singapore; minis from a larger Poodle parent run roughly 4 to 6kg. Most reach near-adult size by 8 to 12 months. "Teacup" is a marketing label, not a size class.

The growth timeline, month by month
At homecoming, around week nine, a toy Maltipoo weighs a fraction of its adult figure and fits in two palms. The visible growth spurt runs roughly months three to five, which is why a maltipoo 4 months old already shows its adult outline, and by 8 to 12 months the frame is essentially done.
The coat finishes later than the skeleton: puppy fluff gives way to the adult coat through the first year, often lightening in shade as it goes. So judge adult size by the frame and the parents, and judge the adult coat with patience.
Growth stages, kg-first
- Week 9: homecoming, palm-sized
- Months 3 to 5: the visible growth spurt
- Months 8 to 12: near-adult frame
- Toy adult: 2 to 4kg; mini adult: 4 to 6kg
- Coat matures after the frame, often lighter
Toy, mini, teacup: decoding the labels
Toy is what we place: a Maltese crossed with a Toy Poodle, and a toy Maltipoo full grown finishes 2 to 4kg, the maltipoo adult size buyers here should picture. Mini means a Miniature Poodle parent and a 4 to 6kg adult. Teacup means marketing: an unusually small puppy, a premium price, and health risks that arrive later, which is why the label never appears on our cards or in theprice guide.
A note from the shop floor: buyers arrive quoting labels from overseas breeder sites, and the labels predict adult size worse than a thirty-second look at the parents. We keep the parents' sizing on record for every litter and show you in person; that is the whole trick.
The label decoder
- Toy: Toy Poodle parent, 2 to 4kg adult, what we place
- Mini: Miniature Poodle parent, 4 to 6kg adult
- Teacup: a price label, not a size class
- Best predictor: the parents, every time
What 2 to 4kg means day to day in Singapore
A featherweight dog reshapes the practical stuff. It rides in a carrier on the MRT and in a Grab without negotiation, sits in the smallest grooming price tier ($50 to $70 for a basic groom), eats a small bag of food slowly, and takes up one sofa cushion in anyHDB flat.
The one honest caution: 2kg of dog is delicate. Toddlers who hug hard and staircases without supervision are the real risks at this size, so homes with very young children should handle-train the humans before the puppy arrives.
Featherweight, practically
- Carrier-friendly on MRT and Grab
- Smallest grooming price tier
- Tiny food bills
- Delicate with toddlers: supervise hugs
Frequently asked questions
When does Maltipoo stop growing?
Most Maltipoos reach near-adult size between 8 and 12 months, with the frame finishing before the coat does. The fastest visible growth happens around months 3 to 5, which is why a 4-month-old already looks close to its adult outline.
How can I predict my puppy’s adult size?
Look at the parents, not the label on the listing. A puppy from a 3kg Maltese and a 3kg Toy Poodle will finish in that neighbourhood. We show you the parents’ sizing in person, which beats any size chart or marketing term.
Is a teacup Maltipoo real?
Teacup is a marketing label, not a recognised size class, and a teacup Maltipoo full grown often lands where a normal toy does anyway. The label usually means an unusually small puppy at a premium, with health risks from extreme miniaturisation. A healthy 2 to 4kg toy is already small enough for any Singapore home.
Are male Maltipoos bigger than females?
Slightly, on average, but within the toy range the difference is a few hundred grams, not a size class. Parent sizing and the individual puppy matter far more than gender.
How tall is a full grown Maltipoo?
Toys stand roughly 20 to 30cm at the shoulder. Height varies with the Poodle parent more than the Maltese side.
Does size change the price?
Yes: within our $3,288 to $5,988 all-in range, a smaller expected adult frame sits higher. The price guide explains both drivers; the label on a listing should never be one of them.
